Island Blue

Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 is a 100% non-superwash Corriedale wool yarn that is woollen spun, making it warm, light and lofty. Each 100g skien has 450m (492 yds) and can be knit from a heavy fingering/sport to a light DK.

South American Corriedale is a snuggly wool with a long, strong staple and beautiful crimp and shine. Being untreated, the wool retains all its natural characteristics. Garments and accessories made in Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 will be lightweight, durable and keep their shape well. The yarn’s characteristics make it perfect for cosy accessories, stranded colourwork, delicate cables and rustic lacework.

Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 can be knitted on a variety of needle diameters, depending on the project type and desired effect:

3 mm (US 2) needles – 24 sts x 38 rows in 10cm (4”) – fine gauge knits needing extra durability, e.g. Fair Isle / stranded colourwork garments and accessories.

3.5 mm (US 4) needles – 22 sts x 34 rows 10cm (4”) – hats, gloves, mittens and other accessories knitted in cables and other textured patterns.
